Campus Vista ('CampusVista', 'we', 'us', 'our') is committed to respecting your online privacy and recognises your need for appropriate protection and management of personally identifiable information ('Personal Information') you share with us, in line with applicable Indian data protection laws and regulations, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ('DPDP Act').

This Privacy Policy applies to all individuals who register on or use the CampusVista.ai platform ('Platform'), including students, parents, and guardians. It explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

By using the Platform, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Policy. This Policy is subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Personal Data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual — including a name, identification number, contact details, location data, or any online identifier — as defined under applicable Indian law.

Platform means the CampusVista.ai website, mobile-optimised web app, and any related services or products offered by Campus Vista.

Purpose means helping students get personalised KCET college and branch recommendations, connect with counsellors or partner institutions, and make informed admission decisions.

We collect information in the following ways:

Account and Registration Information

• Name, email address, and phone number when you create an account.
• Parent/guardian details if you are under 18.

Academic and Preference Data

• KCET rank, score, and category (GM/SC/ST/OBC/etc.).
• Preferred colleges, branches, and courses.
• Academic history such as 12th-grade marks or percentage.
• Other preferences and interests you choose to share.

Usage and Technical Data

• Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visits.
• Device information: device type, operating system.
• Clickstream and interaction patterns on the Platform.

Communication Data

• Messages, queries, or feedback you send us via email or the Platform.
• Responses to surveys or research questionnaires (if any).

Payment Information

• For paid services: transaction details processed through our payment gateway partners.
• We do not store full payment card details — these are handled by our payment processors.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To generate personalised college wish-lists and branch recommendations based on your KCET rank and preferences.
• To connect you with counsellors or partner institutions when you request such services.
• To send you relevant notifications, updates, and alerts about your account or the Platform.
• To process payments for any paid services you subscribe to.
• To improve the Platform's features, content, and overall user experience.
• To conduct internal analytics and research to understand usage patterns.
• To personalise content and recommendations on the Platform.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from government authorities.
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents on the Platform.

We rely on your consent as the primary legal basis for processing your personal data. Where required by law, we will seek explicit consent for specific processing activities.

With Counsellors and Partner Institutions

• If you request counselling or express interest in a specific college or institution, your contact information and relevant academic data may be shared with authorised counsellors or partner institutions.
• Such parties are permitted to use your data solely for the purpose of providing you the requested service.
• You acknowledge that once shared, the data handling practices of those institutions are governed by their own privacy policies.

With Service Providers

• We share data with trusted vendors who support our operations (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processors, analytics providers) under appropriate data processing agreements.

Legal and Regulatory Disclosures

• We may disclose your data in response to valid legal process, court orders, or government requests.
• We may also share data to protect the rights, property, or safety of Campus Vista, our users, or the public.

Business Transfers

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services, including college websites, government portals (e.g., KEA), or partner platforms. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external sites.

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by applicable law.

When you close your account or withdraw consent, we will delete or anonymise your personal data, except where retention is required for legal, regulatory, or contractual reasons.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other applicable Indian laws, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

The Platform is designed for students, many of whom may be under 18 years of age. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must consent to your use of the Platform and the collection of your personal data.

By allowing a minor to use the Platform, the parent or guardian consents to the processing of that minor's personal data in accordance with this Policy.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 without verified parental consent.

We take the security of your personal data seriously and have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

These measures include encryption of data in transit (HTTPS), secure storage practices, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

CampusVista.ai is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government organisation, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), or any educational institution. Information about colleges, cutoffs, and admission processes is sourced from publicly available data. We make every effort to keep this information accurate and up-to-date, but we do not guarantee its completeness or accuracy.

CampusVista shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information provided on the Platform, including recommendations, cut-off data, or college details.
